This is our 2nd year using the Turkish made Ultra Anchor/Swivel/Grab hook.  I was 1st made aware of it where someone recommended the Turkish made Ultra Swivel which is a unique design that rights the anchor as it comes over the roller.  We were fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to trial test an Ultra all summer cruising season last year and after anchoring out all season and not wanting to deal with the Med mooring in marinas I can tell you that it worked flawlessly for us all year.  I have not had any experience with the Rocna but some independent comparative studies do show the Ultra to be superior in some categories.  You definitely have to drive the boat right on top of it to dislodge it.  It only comes in stainless steel and seems to be priced less than the Rocna in SS.  The design is quite unique with it having hollow flukes filled with lead that weights the point to set quickly and drive it in deep.  Many times swimming over it all that is exposed is the shank.

This summer we have had Bill and Kay O'Meara who own N5725 on with us since mid May and we have anchored out every night except a few nights where we dropped the anchor and backed to a pontoon or docking area.  The anchor always sets immediately and even in grass we drop it and slowly let the wind/current pull us back and then very gently idle in reverse to get a firm set with mostly a 3 to 1 chain to depth ratio.  Bill is so impressed that he is now in contact with Randy at Quickline US and negotiating to buy one upon his return to the US.

Re the Ultra, I agree with everything David says. We have also used ours for the past year and we too mainly anchor off - we haven't been in to a marina for the past month and don't plan to for a while. We also normally use a scope of 3 to 1. No experience with a Rocna but am very happy with the Ultra.

Ben ilk etapta çapaları baş makarası üzerinde düzeltebilen çok özel tasarıma sahip olan ULTRA FırdöndüRDÜ’den haberdar oldum. Biz geçen sezon boyunca deneme amaçlı bir ULTRA Çapa sahibi olma önerisi alacak kadar da şanslıydık ve bütün sezon boyu marinalara girmektense dışarıda demirde kalan biri olarak söyleyebilirim ki ULTRA Çapa bizim için bütün yıl boyunca kusursuz iş gördü. Ben ROCNA çapa kullanmadım ama bazı bağımsız testler ULTRA’nın bazı yönlerden ROCNA’dan iyi olduğunu gösteriyor. ULTRA’yı geri alabilmek için kesinlikle tam üstüne gelmeniz gerekiyor. Sadece paslanmaz olarak satılıyor ve ROCNA’nın paslanmazından da ucuz. Tasarımı oldukça eşsiz, boş bir kola ve kurşun dolu hazneye sahip bu sayede çok çabuk tutuyor ve dibe gömülüyor. Bir çok kere yüzerek baktım ve görebildiğim tek şey çapa koluydu.

Bu yaz Mayıs ortasından bu yana N5725 sahibi Bill ve Kay O’Meara’da bizimle birlikteler ve birkaç gece hariç hep demirde kaldık. Çapa her seferinde hemen tuttu ve yosunda bile suya bıraktıktan sonra yavaşça tekneyi rüzgârla geri bıraktığımızda ve devamında motorla çok az tornistan yaptığımızda 1’e 3 kaloma ile bile tuttu. Bill bu performanstan çok etkilendi ve ULTRA Marine’in Amerika bayisi QuicklineUSA’dan Randy ile Amerika dönüşü bir ULTRA almak için pazarlıklara başladı.

Yine ULTRA, David’in söylediği her şeye katılıyorum. Bizde çapamızı geçen yıl boyunca kullandık ve fazlasıyla demirde kaldık – geçen ay hiç marinaya girmedik ve önümüzdeki ayda girmeyi düşünmüyoruz. Bizde normalde 1’ 3 kaloma ile kullanıyoruz. ROCNA ile tecrübemiz yok ama ULTRA ile fazlasıyla mutluyuz.
